Stagelights is a full-service performing arts center offering classes, private lessons, and summer camps in dance, voice, and acting. We offer a College Prescreen Program for students wishing to pursue college performing arts degrees.

We provide a nurturing and caring environment that fosters a love and appreciation for the performing arts while developing self confidence in our students.

Stagelights Performing Arts Center provides programs for all age and skill levels.

Our mission is to foster an environment that inspires artists from beginner through college prep. We serve all levels of students from recreational performers to advanced students looking for a progressive program. Stagelights’ program builds confidence, develops creative spirit, and prepares students for the stage.

Dance – Ages 3+

Our dance program offers classes and private lessons in all genres of dance. We welcome all levels of dancers. Our dance program develops dancers from pre-school through high school. Beginner combinations classes introduce elements of ballet, jazz, tumbling, and tap. Older student classes teach more advanced skills in a single dance discipline. We offer beginner combination, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, acrobatics, and musical theater dance classes.

Voice – All Ages

Our voice program includes private voice lessons, musical theater class singing, and a Voice Performance Ensemble. We focus on both classical and musical theater styles of singing with emphasis on both voice technique and voice performance. We assist our students with song choice, audition preparedness, and audition recording. Our voice students’ skills grow quickly and many of our voice students have been cast as leads and supporting roles in school and community theater musicals.

Acting – Ages 8+

Our acting program combines training with performance opportunities. We offer classes and private lesson for our acting students. We develop acting skills for stage and film. We teach a variety of techniques including improv, scene development, recording slate and audition reels, cold readings, and audition readiness. We go the extra mile and assist our students with headshots, resumes, and local commercial acting opportunities.

College Prescreens

From audition techniques to audition preparation, we know what colleges want and how to best prepare young artists to succeed. We take pride in being College Prescreen Specialists with proven success helping students getting accepted into one of their top three college choices. Preparation is key and our college prescreen program is tailored to student’s skill set and college’s requirements. We focus on the artists strengths and marketability. Summer Camps

We know our students miss performing over the summer, so we offer full and half day camps in multiple genres of dance and age groups. Our summer programs are staffed by Stagelights’ staff and our teen volunteer Student Assistants, so students are comfortable with the teachers and counselors leading the camp. Summer camps are the perfect time to try new dance genres, work on advancing skills, and have fun in a safe environment.

Summer Musical Camp

Our summer musicals are one of most popular programs and sell out quickly. Students learn a musical in three weeks including all choreography, songs, lines, and blocking. Students grow quickly in this camp and love it! They perform two shows at the end of the musical camp for family, friends, and the community. All students are welcome and auditions for parts are held day one. The program is designed to balance all skill levels and age groups. It is staffed by Stagelights’ staff as well as our teen volunteer theater students, who work as stage and sound managers as well as performance demonstrators.

After ten years of performing professionally in NYC, nationally, and internationally, Lisa Ferlita founded Stagelights Performing Arts Center because performing arts and teaching are her passions. Igniting a passion for the performing arts is at the core to Stagelights’ mission and sharing what she loves with her students is core to Lisa’s teaching and program development.

The key to Stagelights’ success is that we engage the beginner, inspire the budding star, and challenge the advanced performer. We combine classic techniques with modern approaches to give our young artists well-rounded performing arts education. We work to balance classes and training with performance opportunities to build confidence on the stage and in life. We appreciate the support and confidence the Stagelights’ families have in our program and are committed to excellence in performing arts education.
